Tonight I decided to go through my collection of books on scrapbooking to find inspiration and ideas. A lot of the books I had purchased, were mostly geared towards paper crafting and traditional scrapbooking and most of them, I would simply glance through and flip through the pages. I didn't really find myself too engaged with the written context or maybe was just not feeling a connection with the author. But, when I bought "Clean & Simple | Scrapbooking | The Sequel by Cathy Zielske, I was instantly hooked on everything she had to say. My concept of scrapbooking was forever changed and she really taught me to enjoy & appreciate the simplicity of telling our stories.
Anyways, I must of read this book so many times. Tonight, I took it to bed with me to read again and there's always something new that I discover that I didn't quite catch the previous times. I came across one of her articles--"Who are you, anyway?" on pg.30-31 and was inspired by her 'ME' layout. Simple Scrapbooks had an article that list questions for scrapbookers to answer and make pages about themselves. I don't think many of us create pages about ourselves as often as we do about others, at least I haven't. And I know that when my kids are older, they would appreciate knowing more about me other than being their mom who took care of them and cleaned the house, you know what I mean? So, I am truly inspired to find the time and put more effort into creating the story of who I am as a person.
Stay tuned for a page dedicated to ME:)
Xoxo,
Dahlia
P.S. I *heart* you, Cathy Z!
